It all started when...
My watch marked 1:30 pm, the weather was starting to turn and a once bright sun was slowly fading away - a thunderstorm was imminent. I only had about a minute to finish taking the waterfall shot I wanted, before being trapped by what would be a severe downpour in the middle of a dense forest in Virginia.
As I snapped the shutter, I heard thunder roar in the distance and the clouds starting to obscure the scenery around me. My time was up and I started the 3-mile hike back to the car, the rain started pouring heavily all over me. I was soaked, but I had gotten the picture I wanted. I could not wait to get home to share this story with my friends and family but as thunder struck around me, so did an idea in my mind. Why not create a website to share these moments, stories, pictures and projects?
And fast forward to now…
My name is Andrés and I am from a small town called Aguadulce located in the country that many call the bridge of the world and the heart of the universe, Panama. I am currently in the USA pursuing my dream of becoming an engineer at Purdue University. With a Bachelor’s degree under my belt I am in the process of finishing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Communications, Networks, Signal and Image Processing, my research is currently in mmWave communications.
But enough of the technical jargon – beyond the oscilloscopes, and all the coding I am a photographer who loves to shoot scenic landscapes and wildlife that spark thought and conversation; an avid outdoor enthusiast that you’ll often find in the trails hiking and looking for the next big moment; a diehard soccer and baseball fan that’ll always be screaming at the TV on bad calls but at the end of the day I am a self-motivated person looking for more ink to write with.
If you would like to know more about me or the many projects and trips I embark on, check out my Journal and Projects section, if you would like to reach out, contact me too! Thanks for visiting and I hope that this website serves as an inspiration for you to write your own next big chapter.
